Offering prayer on the Prophet or reciting Qur'an?

Ques: As supererogatory acts, which one is better? Offering prayer on the Prophet or reciting Qur'an?

Ans: Assalamu Alaikum.

Surely Allah's words- Al-Qur'an is better to recite than durood. As one gets 10 thawab per letter, at least, in reciting it..

But a muslim should recite durood (prayer on Prophet (SAW)) also, as much as he can, to create a deep relation between him and the Prophet (SAW). And Allah (SWT) has ordered for that too, as brother streetwalker said.

Better, u plan a daily routine and recite the both. Allah will bless u, insha'Allah.

Minimum ghusl requirement?

Ques: For minimum ghusl requirement by hanafi is it:

wash mouth 3 times
wash nose 3 times
wash body once or is it wash body thrice for minimum requirements??

also, do you need to gargle water all the way to back of throat where you gag on it and then spit it out?

Ans:
Assalamu Alaikum.

Minimum requirement is:
Wash mouth
Wash nose
Wash whole body

No numbers. But washing mouth and nose thoroughly is easy with just washing them 1 time. Where washing whole body within the first time isn't easy. That's why the Sunnar recommend washing it for three times.

And yes, you need to gargle water all the way to back of throat where you gag on it and then spit it out.

And Allah knows best.

Swear by Allah?

Ques: If someone swore by the name of Allah that he knows someone who achieved XYZ and during/after the oath he realises that what he said is not true - will he be sinful and required to pay kaffarah? (Note that this case is meant like that it was not the intention to tell a lie.)

Ans: Walaikum Assalam.

No, he will not be required to pay kaffarah. As it is Yameen Lagwo (unintentional oath).
Allah says:

Allah will not take you to task for that which is unintentional in your oaths. But He will take you to task for that which your hearts have garnered. Allah is Forgiving, Clement. (2:225)

But, one should not swear and even not say anything before confirming it. Prophet said,

كفى بالمرء كذبا أن يحدث بكل ما سمع

It is enough for a person to be a liar that he talks about everything he hears. (without confirming it.) - Muslim

And Allah knows best.

Interrupted Prayer

Ques: Assalamu Alaikum,

What do you do if someone interrupts your prayer? I was just (attempting) to pray zuhr here at work. I pray in a file room that usually only I go in. Alas, apparently someone else needed files in there today, because they came in during the smack dab middle of my prayer (literally, I was getting up for the 3rd rakah). I salaamed out, since the room was very small, and I was right in her way.

So what do I do? I am just going to go back in and start the prayer over again, but I am wondering if there's any additional ettiquette or whatnot that I need to do.

Ans:
Walaikum Assalam.

Yes, insha'Allah u have to just go back in and start the prayer over again. No additional etiquette is there. But one should break his/her prayer only in serious cases. I mean only when he/she really needs to break it. i.e. someone asks for help and he/she can really help him/her etc. Don't break prayer for normal reasons.

And Allah knows best.

Attending marriage (Nikah)?

Ques: Assalaamualaikum. I 'M from india and v know how india is actually means OUT OF 10,000 PEOPLE v say 10-20 or more people will do nikah as per sunnah.
so my question is when we go for nikah, video graphy is there, and many kabira sins are there AND GOING TO NIKAH ceremony and sitting and eating dinner.
MUHAMMED(.S.W.S.)'s sunnah is to keep only one dish BUT THERE V SEE THERE ARE MANY DISHED(DIFFERENT KIND).I heard one aalim(tableeghi) SAYING IT IS NOT PERMISIBLE TO EAT( NOT HARAAM) BUT JUST in urdu( not pasandida) TO GO THERE AND EAT .JUST V SHOULD GIVE DAWAT AND COME.

Ans:
Assalamu Alaikum.

Accepting Dawah and going for it is Sunnah in general. But if u know before that there will be haram things like videos, dances etc. u should avoid accepting it.

If u didn't know it before and accepted the dawah, then realized it after reaching there, then u should come back fast as soon as possible and keep urself away from those haram things.

But if u failed to come back even after u wanted to, for ur parents/family etc, then just keep away from those haram things and insha'Allah Allah will forgive the unintentional sins.

And as for the dishes, I think it will be khilafe taqwa.. But not makruh. So, just for this reason one should not avoid social invitations. Specially when it will spread misunderstandings among people.

And Allah knows best.

Audhubillahi in each rakat - Salat valid?

Ques: 1. Would salat be valid if one says the Isti'adha (Audhubillahi min al-Shaytan al-Rajeem) in each rakat instead of just at the first?

2. Is it okay to give new converts books (in this case an "Ilmihal" in German) even if one knows that there are some fiqhi errors in it? (Like writing that one has to say Isti'adha for each rakat)

The Problem is that in fact in Germany every "Ilmihal" has some serious fiqhi errors, and the person whom I need to give some books isn't able to understand English AFAIK, so I don't really have a choice.

Ans:
Assalamu Alaikum.

1. Yes, the prayer would be valid, insha'Allah.
2. If it has few errors, then give him and mark the errors. And later tell him the correct views on those errors.

And Allah knows best.
