Ques: Assalamu 'Alaykum,
1. I have read somewhere quite a long ago about an incident. But I have forgot the name of the book. If someone can remember the source of the following incident , I would be highly appreciated.
Once the prophet Muhammad (SAW) was in a jamat with his sahaba (RAW). Then at one morning , when the prophet ( SAW) and the whole Jamat woke up , they noticed that the sun is already risen.
Then , the prophet (SAW) has told the sahaba ( RAW) that Allah wanted to teach you something. So, he has caused this special event. Then they all make wudu ( ablution ) and prayed the Fajar prayer again.
The lesson was that if someone misses his Fajar prayer, he should offered his prayer properly as soon as possible, after waking up.
Does anyone know the reference of this incident ?
2. Well, I would like to raise some issues. This unintentional late observance of the morning ( Fajar ) prayer should not be considered as "Qadha prayer ". Am I right ?

1. This incident happened when returning from the battle of Khaibar. It is mentioned in Sahih Muslim, Sunan Tirmidhi, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan Nasayi, Sunan Ibn Majah and other Hadith books.

Abu Hurayrah narrates: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) returned from the expedition to Khaybar, he travelled one night, and stopped for rest when he became sleepy. He told Bilal to remain on guard during the night, and he could, while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions slept. When the time for dawn approached Bilal leaned against his camel facing the direction from which the dawn would appear. However he was overcome by sleep while he was leaning against his camel, and neither the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) nor Bilal, nor anyone else among his Companions, rose until the sun shone on them. Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) was the first of them to awake and, being startled, he called to Bilal who said: Messenger of Allah! May my father and mother be offered as ransom for thee, the same thing overpowered me which overpowered you. He (the Holy Prophet, then) said: Lead the beasts on. So they led their camels to some distance. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) then performed ablution and gave orders to Bilal who pronounced the Iqamah and then led them in the morning prayer. When he finished the prayer he said: When anyone forgets the prayer, he should observe it when he remembers it, for Allah has said: "And observe the prayer for remembrance of Me" (Qur'an, xx.14). Yunus said: Ibn Shihab used to recite it like this: "(And observe the prayer) for remembrance.
2. It will be regarded as 'Qadha prayer'. But as it was unintentional late after taking full preparation, so, Allah will forgive the sin of this 'Qadha prayer' insha'Allah. In the incident above, Allah has taught us how to treat with the prayer which has not been prayed in its time due to forgetfulness or sleeping, that we have to pray it as soon as we remember or awake.
